Each morning, breakfast is served at two locations at the resort: Atoll Market on the main island and Vilu Restaurant on the smaller island. Guests who either booked a rate including breakfast and Hilton gold and platinum members are entitled to free breakfast at either or both restaurants daily.
Atoll Market Breakfast
For those staying on the main island which includes all beach villas as well as some of the overwater villas, Atoll Market will be the closest option for breakfast. With plenty of tables inside and outside, it won’t be difficult to find a quiet place to sit. A massive buffet is served with East Asian, Indian, and Western dishes, as well as fresh fruit, juices, eggs, and even ice cream.
The quality of the food was quite good, though not quite as good as a five star hotel breakfast closer to civilization. Nevertheless, breakfast should be more than enough to keep most people full through to dinner and you won’t run of out new foods to try with the variety of foods available.
Vilu Restaurant Breakfast
For guests staying on the smaller island which include most of the overwater villas, Vilu Restaurant will be the obvious choice for breakfast. Vilu is much smaller than Atoll Market with a small buffet, though they also have a full menu where you can order as many dishes as you’d like. These dishes include eggs, waffles, French toast, seafood and more South Asian specialties.
Overall I preferred the atmosphere at Vilu as the service was better, quality of food was higher, and you can look out directly out to the water from most tables.
Bottom Line
I was always excited to get up and start my day with a big breakfast at Vilu and Atoll Market. As food at the resort is very expensive, for those trying to save money, you can have a large breakfast which will keep you full through to the evening. If you do plan on visiting the Conrad Maldives and don’t currently have Hilton gold or diamond status, I highly recommend applying for one of several American Express credit cards that offer complementary Hilton Gold or Platinum status.
