Dan Lounge (B,C), Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport

Location

The Dan Lounge has locations in the B, C and E concourses of Ben Gurion Airport’s Terminal 3.  The newer Dan Lounge in the E concourse is only accessible to passengers on select airlines which I am not reviewing here.

How to Access

All business and first class passengers traveling with any airline other than ELAL, as well as Priority Pass cardholders flying in any class from terminal 3 will be able to access the Dan Lounge.

The Lounge

The Dan Lounges located at concourses B and C are identical in layout and food/beverage offerings.  The lounge consists of one large rectangular room with the main dining area on the far left side, seating in the center, and a small buffet and restroom on the far right side.

I like the overall design and ambiance of the Dan Lounge with mostly comfortable seating and nice views of the aircraft outside.

The lounge can get crowded during peak travel times however and it can be difficult to find a seat or worse, you won’t be allowed to enter due to overcrowding.

Food and Drinks

For years, the Dan Lounges have offered the same disappointing food and beverage options.  Buffet options remain the same throughout the day consisting of salads, yogurt, bread rolls, as well as hummus and other dips.

Also available throughout the day are cookies, cake, and raw fruit.

The lounge also serves oatmeal in the mornings and a soup at night which is really the only food option I enjoy.

At either end of the lounge is a drink buffet with choices of soda, juice, water, tea, coffee, wine and beer.

The Dan Lounge recently added Carlsburg beer on tap as well.

It’s a decent drink selection, but certainly not to the level of some better airport lounges.

Bottom Line

While I am always happy to have lounge access as opposed to waiting in the terminal, the Dan Lounge is far from my favorite airport lounge.  While the décor, seating, and views are nice, the food options are lousy, and the lounge can get extremely crowded at times, making for a less pleasant experience.

I’m hoping to check out the new Dan Lounge that recently opened in the E concourse which is currently only available to British Airways and LANTAM passengers and seems to be much nicer.
