Israeli Citizens Returning to Israel Check List Before you Fly

For the full list of guidelines, click here.

As of today (March 19, 2021), all Israeli citizens are able to return to Israel without obtaining special permission from the government beforehand.  However the process can still be confusing, so I’ve created a simple checklist with all the information you need.

1. All passengers (vaccinated and non) must take a Covid-19 PCR test within 72 hours of your flight.

1a. Direct Flight to Israel: Simply make sure your test is within 72 hours of your departure time.

1b. Connecting Flight to Israel: As long as your connection is less than 24 hours, you can get your PCR test within 72 hours of your first departing flight.

**Test results should be printed and taken with you to the airport.

2. All passengers (vaccinated and non) must schedule a Covid-19 PCR test upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport through the website check2fly.co.il.  This should be done before departing for Israel.

You do not have to pay for the service; use the following discount code on the payment page: free1.

If a passenger had a previous COVID-19 infection, he or she will not be obliged to take the test.

3. All passengers (vaccinated and non) must fill out the Israel Entry Report form within 24 hours of your flight, before checking in.

  • Identification information.
  • Places you visited in the past 2 weeks.
  • Health declarations.
  • Address of the accommodation where you will isolate.
  • Additional documents to attach.

4. Quarantine In Israel

4a. For those who were fully vaccinated in Israel, you will not need to go into quarantine.

4b. For those who were not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated, you will need to go into home or hotel quarantine for 10 to 14 days.

The duration of the mandatory state-designated motel isolation is 14 days, there is an option to shorten to 10 days if the person in isolation takes two coronavirus tests at the times set in the protocol and both test results are negative.

Home isolation is possible only if the arriving passengers completely separate from other household members in full compliance with all isolation requirements for the entire duration of home isolation.

4c. For those who were fully vaccinated outside of Israel, if you wish to avoid the quarantine, you must do the following.

a. In addition to the PCR tests, you must have a serological test done upon arrival into Israel at one of the following locations:  https://chaimvchessed.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Approved-Labs.pdf

Following the results of your serological test, you can apply via this link to the health ministry to release you from the quarantine.  Most people receive a response within 12 – 24 hours.

Many Israelis who have been vaccinated abroad have been able to get an exemption for quarantine by showing a serological test taken abroad, so doing so is recommended before coming to Israel.

Additional information regarding quarantine can be found here.

Wishing everyone returning to Israel a safe trip!
