Location
The Lufthansa lounge is located in Hall B where all domestic and inter Schengen flights depart from. Once you pass security, all the lounges are straight down a long corridor before you turn right towards the boarding gates.
How To Access
Access to the Lufthansa Lounge is complementary for Star Alliance business class passengers, Star Alliance Gold members traveling on any Star Alliance airline.
The Lounge
The Lufthansa lounge is a relatively small space with nice décor and a wide range of food and drink options.
After entering the lounge and checking in with the front desk, you can either go left into the dining room or right into the lounge area.
The dining area has some seating as well as a nice buffet with plenty of food and drinks to choose from.
The lounge area was very small with about a dozen lounge chairs and a small area at the back of the room with stools and a long desk. This room also had a smaller buffet mainly with drinks as well as some snacks.
Food and Drinks
The food and drink offerings at the Lufthansa Lounge were quite impressive and unexpected as Athens is by no means a base for Lufthansa. Lunch was just being served as we came into the lounge and we found plenty of tasty options to eat. There was one table with only Greek cold small bites and another with a few hot dishes like vegetables, pasta, soup and some meat. There were also a few cold vegetarian sandwiches and wraps available.
The drink selection was vast with various sodas, juices, water, coffee, wine, beer (including Paulaner on tap), as well as hard alcohol.
Bottom Line
Despite its size, the Lufthansa lounge is the most elegant lounge at Athens airport B Hall with by far the best food and drink offerings. I don’t think this is a lounge worth arriving early to use either, but a nice option to have a beer and some food before your flight. During peak times, it may be a better option to go to the Aegean Airlines lounge next door as it rarely gets crowded and is so much larger.
