When I think back to my greatest airport lounge experiences, always near the top of the list is the Qantas First Class Lounge in Sydney. This lounge perfectly executes all the amenities one would expect from a first class lounge experience while still maintaining a warm and cozy feeling as opposed to overly luxurious.
How to Access?
The Qantas First Class Lounge is open to Qantas and OneWorld first class passengers as well as OneWorld Emerald frequent flyers departing on a OneWorld flight in any cabin.
This is a great reason for Sydney based flyers to reach Emerald status in order to access this incredible lounge each time your fly no matter the cabin.
The Lounge
The lounge is located two levels up from the main terminal just beside the Qantas Business Class Lounge. After going up two sets of escalators, you’ll arrive at a gorgeous circular entrance where you’ll find the reception desk as well as an old style flight board.
The lounge is a long, curved, open space which is divided into several sections including a library, lounge seating, restaurant and bar, and finally the spa.

Lounge Dining Area
I headed straight to the restaurant to sample as many dishes as I could before boarding my flight to Hong Kong.
Lounge Dining
The all day dining menu read as follows:
In addition to the a la carte menu, there were additional buffet items including sandwiches and cakes for those who don’t have the time to wait.
I had the salt and pepper squid, fish tagine, cheeseburger, and finished off the meal with a bowl of ice cream. To drink I had a couple glasses of champagne as well as the next flight to Guadalajara cocktail which was not my favorite.
The food was divine. I truly wish I could have stayed at the lounge all day and sampled some more dishes for dinner as well.
Lounge Amenities
Lounge guests are entitled to a complementary massage, though unfortunately I didn’t have time to partake with limited time before my flight. I highly recommend making an appointment when you first arrive at the lounge.
The lounge offers shower suites as well, though once again I didn’t have enough time to check them out after my lengthy lunch.
Bottom Line
The Qantas First Class Lounge far exceeded my expectations with exceptional design, service, and most of all food and drinks. I would certainly make a point of flying out from Sydney in One World first class in order to enjoy this lounge once again, it was just such an enjoyable experience.
Until next time..
